Who can exhibit?

The Art Vault encourages applications of original works of art by both emerging and established visual artists. Works of all media are welcomed including painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media and installations. The size and space of the venue will be the limiting factor.

Selection criteria

Applications are considered first and foremost on the quality of the work submitted. Applications will be considered for the Small Gallery only unless a special case for the use of the Main Gallery can be made. The selection panel will consist of the Director of the Art Vault as well as representatives from the Visual Arts Faculty of La Trobe University, The Mildura Arts Centre and the community.

Cost of exhibiting

The cost of hiring the Small Gallery is generally $520 per exhibition unless part of an agreed package for a Gallery Artist, Artist in Residence or established artist. If the work is for exhibition only, and not for sale, then additional costs for hiring the gallery would apply. The Main Gallery will generally not be available for exhibition applications. The hiring of the Main Gallery may be prohibitive for most artists. However, The Art Vault would consider accepting a work(s) of art from an established artist in lieu of the rental charge. Alternatively an artist could seek funding to cover the cost of the gallery rental. Interested artists should contact The Art Vault Director.
