Bio

Til was born in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, in 1955.
Followed University of Arts in Arnhem and graduated in 1977.
Started travelling through the Middle East and returned to Europe in 1984.
Visits Australia for the first time in 1995, is denied residency in 2001 and leaves for New Zealand.
Returned to Australia in 2008 and spends 3 months in Mildura (Vic).
Currently residing on Magnetic Island (Qld).

Artist Statement

I call myself a travelling painter because I tend to stay in one place for no longer than 2-3 years and I try to avoid using the term Artist with a capital 'A' because I only try to express myself through the medium of paint.

My paintings are simple expressions of daily experiences. Most of my paintings carry a message and almost all have a humoristic twist.
