Lilly Kelly Napangardi is a senior law woman of the Watiyawanu community in the Haast’s Bluff area of the Northern Territory, 325 Kilometers north – west of Alice Springs.  She holds authority over the Woman’s Dreaming story associated with Kunajarrayi, and her paintings are made up of fine dots and dashes depicting her country’s sand hills; its winds, rainfall and desert environment.  In 1986 Lilly Kelly Napangardi won the Northern Territory Art Award and entered and exhibited at the 20th Telstra award, the most prestigious Aboriginal art award in the country in 2003.  The highest price achieved for one of her paintings was at Sotheby’s in Melbourne in July, 2007 for “Sandhills around Mt Leibig” for $39,600 dollars.  In 2006 Australia Art Collector Magazine: issue #35, listed Lilly Kelly Napangardi as one of the 50 most collectable artists in the country.  Lilly’s work is represented at the Art Gallery of New South Wales; Art Gallery of Queensland; Art Gallery of South Australia and in many corporate and private collections around the world.
