Artist Statement

As an artist pursuing enlightenment, I'm still struggling to find my way and fit into society: so many interests, ideas, potential directions, mediums, so many choices, so much to learn, so many shattered beliefs, so little time.

Formal academic art study has forced growth in previously unexplored areas. I believe it's a part of my spiritual development which accelerated exponentially during my stay in Italy and formed the central focus of my Honours exegesis 'Noetics'. This involved the intuitive exploration of consciousness from the matrix of philosophy, art, quantum physics and traditions. It informed my practice wherein fractal (crystal) and eye photographic images, imbued with a spectral wash, signify transcendence.

My work varies from relatively realistic paintings in oils, acrylics, and silicone through gouache incorporating metals, to symbolically layered installations.

I'm interested in freeing-up my style, working on more psi stories, in painting subject matter from my Italian experience, and in developing the spectral wash photographs. Ideally a light engineer would help with the latter as part of Masters' study.
