Bio
Born: c.1922
Region: Utopia
Language Group: Anmatyerre and Alyawarr
Emily’s extended family, full of artists including
sister the late Minnie Pwerle, Barbara Weir, Aileen and Betty Mpetyane,
all encouraged Emily and sisters Geyla and Molly Pwerle to paint with
their famed sister Minnie. They have enjoyed their time painting
immensely. Emily is from the Utopian region and more often relies on
linear compositions with a certain degree of boldness in her works.
