Bio
Anne Hederics is an
artist and writer with a foundation as a publications and graphic
designer. Twenty years of sessional art and design teaching followed at
the Sunraysia Institute of TAFE in a variety of departments within the
TAFE system in Mildura, Broken Hill, Dareton and Robinvale and fabric
enhancement for the Sunraysia Institute of TAFE Clothing department.
Developing a silk dyeing workshop for Aboriginal women in Robinvale saw
the interest in this fabric and the luminous colour achievable, grow and
intensify.
Anne now works mostly with natural fibres, exploring the potential of old
techniques of construction and manipulation.
As an ongoing project Anne and her husband Steve have an art tour
business, Artback Australia, which takes groups of artists out into the
bush for uninterrupted work time. They have a studio and accommodation
facilities on the banks of the Darling River near Wentworth in New South
Wales and a studio/gallery in the main street.
